About Orla

My primary focus as a therapist is to cultivate a genuine, trusting, and non-judgmental relationship with my clients. I work collaboratively with them to make sense of their experiences, both present and past, and to understand how their life history has shaped certain habits or tendencies that may contribute to their current difficulties and suffering.

I believe in the power of working with the therapeutic relationship in the "here and now." This approach serves as a potent tool to illuminate relational dynamics – the ways we relate to ourselves and others. Through this process, healing occurs within a restorative and supportive therapeutic alliance.

Qualifications

I am a qualified pre-accredited psychotherapist with a BSc in Counselling and Psychotherapy from the Institute of Integrative Counselling and Psychotherapy (IICP).

I am also trained in ASIST (Applied Suicide Intervention Skills Training).

Dry Plants
I work with adults seeking help for anxiety, depression, relationship difficulties, emotional management, suicidal ideation, bereavement, and loss.

Approach & Philosophy

Get to Know Me

I use an integrative and flexible approach to adapt to the needs of each client. I see psychotherapy as a team effort, where my client and I work together to create a collaborative understanding of their experiences and difficulties.

My integrative approach draws from various modalities, including Person-Centered Theory, Internal Family Systems, Psychodynamic Theory, Attachment Theory, and mindfulness techniques.

At the heart of my practice is a deep belief in the principles of compassion and curiosity. I strive to create a non-judgmental space where clients feel safe to explore their thoughts and emotions freely.
